Communication/Hur3

 For hur 3 we are figuring out how to communicate from long distances without technology.we got to eithre pick flags or a light signal.my team did the light signal which we had to use a peace of paper and and had to flash it according to what the word had (- long flash)or( . short fash ).i didnt get eny photos of it but when ever I get some I might add them to the blog post.

Pop Test

Pop Test

Take a small test tub - Add a small piece of magnesium metal

Then add Hydrochloric acid and put a boiling tube upside down over the small test tube

after 5 mins keep the boiling tube upside dow  but put it over the burner flame 

you should hear the hydrogon explode + see water made

 Today is are last rotation of Hur5 PE/maths. This blog post is a reflection of what we have done this rotation. For this rotation a game we played was Chinese football. We did this thing were you go around in a circle and you have different things to do like at on place there's Push ups and at the next place you move to with your partner .

WW1

For hur 1 we are learning about WW1 today we had to answer some questions about it.

 

World war 1

 Today for Hurumanu 1 we are learning about world war 1. we had to first read about what started the war and what was in it then we had to fill out a google docs with the answers to some of the things. we had to go back and look at the sheet and find up to 1 facts About each topic there was.

Parihaka poem

 For hur 1 we have been learning about parihaka today is the last day and we had to do a parihaka poem. I think I did okay but I only got one for k. I found it kinda hard to think off words because we havent done to much about it but I'm proud of what id did.

Roll on the wall

Today for drama we are doing Rolls on the wall. My roll on the wall is about the Wicked Witch. At the end I got a bit cared away and started drawing a lot of things on my character like earrings and shoes and a face. I find this fun because you can make your characters personality up. Gold Rush poetry

 For hur 1 we have been learning about the gold rush.  We had to do an acrostic poem and a poem that went like Gold is,Gold can,gold was etc. We either used real facts but we also were allowed to use are imagination.

Gold Rush DLO

 For hur 1 we have been learning about the gold rush. Today we had to do a DLO about it and had to put facts down. I added pictures that represent the facts like who the first person to find gold was and I'd add a picture off a person with gold. 

Maslow's Hierarchy of needs

For wananga we are learning about Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. its a triangle off different needs you need in life the first one is Physiology Needs like Food,Clothes,Sleep,etc. the five stages on it are Physiology needs,Safety needs,Belongingness and love needs,Esteem needs,Self actualisation. After someone has all of the things down for the first stage they can go to the second witch is about safety.once someone has meet  there safety needs they can move onto there belongingness and love then esteem needs and after all off those needs you can move onto Self actualisation.

For hur5 we have been doing Resting heart rates,vertical jumps,Beep test,Agility test. I'm really happy with my Results in the beep test because i thought i might not do so good. I think i could off done a bit better in the Agility test.i think ive been doing good in fitness for now but i don't know about later on.

What makes a good friend

For Wananga we are learning about what makes a good friend.To me a good friend has to be someone I can trust with secrets and someone I can talk to when I'm felling bad and they can die for you they will buy you things maybe if you be nice or force them.A bad friend is someone who tells people you secrets who back stabs you.

The new Zealand Gold rush

For hur 1 we have been learning about the gold rush in New Zealand.i dont know much about the gols Rush i just know it was in the late 1800.

Growth vs Fixed Mindset

For Wga we have been learning about fixed and growth mindset.
A fixed mindset is when you think your not good at something and you cant ever get better at it.A growth mindset is when you think there is still so much you can learn and when you do something and you don't succeed you keep on trying and saying you can do it.

For example say you not good at swimming you will say your not good at swimming yet and a fixed mindset say I'm not good a swimming and I will never be.
To be a growth mindset you have to think that you can achieve you're goal if your reaching for it. 

Why study History

For Hurmanu 1 we have been Learning stuff about history.Three main Historic events that happened in New Zealand are The Musket wars, Matariki and Te Titri o Waitagi. I don't know anything about my history and who would have fought in the war if they did. Here are three more recent events that happened in New Zealand....... Corona Virus, Mosque Attack and White island volcano eruption. We are listening to chapters from Gavin bishop's book 'Piano Rock'. He says he values his heritage because.."Mum's dad was Tainui, from waikato. It's enormously important and it's been a source of inspiration and ideas, thinking about what life must have been like for my grandfather and his siblings"

Arts Kete Final

For the last day off Arts Kete I finally finished my comic.I still do need to colour but its fine because I got the outline down and some off it coloured.I really like mine but I do think if I had a little bit more time I would off got it coloured a bit more.I loved drawing my people it was so much fun until I had to draw the brother I cant draw guys so he doesn't look that good but I tried.I think next time I would change how much time I spent on one page it took me about a week to finish one. Here's a picture off my comic its not that good but there.

Arts Kete Comics

For the Arts Kete  am doing comics it is the last week we have left to finish them and i'm only on the first page.My comic is about a superhero who saves her friend from her brother.The name off my person is Nightmare I didn't have any names for her and I thought it would be call to just call her that.Her friends name is Copper and her Brothers name is Spencer.for me its is hard to draw the peoples faces and sometimes there body's.
I found it hard to draw the faces well drawing the people on the comic.
I found it easy to make the background there in.

How much sodium is in are food

Today for hur 6 we had to rank some off the food in are teachers pantry from the highest amount of sodium to the least.A teenager needs 1500mg of sodium a day.The highest was Ham and the lowest on the list was yogurt.If they eat too much sea salt crackers,ham,chips,sausages a day it wont be good for them.

Arts Kete-Comics

For Arts kete I chose to do comics.Today I had to make a comic book on Pixton. Since it was the first one i made it wasn't that good.Next time i want to make sure i make an interesting story.For now my story just has Two people talking.The main character doesn't have a name but her friends name is Razeme.

How/when the Europeans came NZ

Today we watched the second part of how the Maori and European came to NZ. This time we watched the video about the Europeans. We found out the first European to come to NZ was Abel Tasman. They arrived in NZ in 1642 and brought Pigs,diseases,rats,and potatoes. Well they were trading with the people off Australia. The Australians gave them muskets which was a name for a gun and that how the musket wars began.The musket war ended in 1830. The Maori out numbered the Pakeha people by 40 to 1. Captain James Cook died while in a fight in Hawaii. Here's a picture of Captain Cook

Adverbs

Today in Hur 3 we had to do a activity about adverbs and verbs.Adverbs give the reader more detail about actions.
For example,Yesterday I walked to the dairy fast
The bird sang a beautiful song
The singer was fabulously good

First we had to circle the adverbs and draw a arrow to the verb it described.At first me and my friends didn't really understand what to do but we got the teacher to help us.We had to do 3 sections off circling the adverbs and verbs.

Tangata Whenua

Today we had to do a reading activity about Tangata Whenua.It's about Maori and Moriori and how they came to New Zealand and how they live.It also talks about how they got food and planted seeds. They killed all the native Moa and some other birds for food and lived at the top off New Zealand because it was easier to grow the crops.

What sugar can do to you

Today in class we watch a documentary about sugar we found out that 6 is the maximum teaspoons of sugar we should have a day.We looked at natural sugars in fruit and how much more sugar the fruit is in a drink its healthier to eat a whole orange than to have a glass off orange juice.We looked at way that we could avoid eating too much sugar.
Don't drink too much sugar drinks
Don't have a fizzy drink before you eat because then it will make you eat more
Drink water instead off fizzy
here are some bad things that can happen if you eat to much sugar.
Heart disease
liver disease
diabetes
I hope you remember this next time you eat or drink something with Sugar

The Martian Movie

 For hurumanu 3 we are learning about Mars. A few days ago we watched the martian. It's about a guy being stuck on Mars. It is set in 2035. His original crew thought he died, but NASA was surprised to find he was still alive. Then they had to figure out how to rescue him.At the end off the movie he was saved by the crew when something happened to his rocket.He had to cut a hole in his space suit and get propelled threw the ear to get to his crew mate who couldn't make it all the way out to get him. 

Blockbuster movie Script

While we were in quarantine we had to create a story that could be a movie script we had to chose out of Horror Adventure and Fantasy I chose fantasy I haven't finished the story yet but i'm close my main character is called Mystical I based my people of of a elf,Demon and Raven from X-Men.the story is called Lilith after the main villain who was a lab experiment gone wrong.i had a lot fun making the story because i like to write story's about things that aren't real.

Today for maths we had to answer question to do with different Graphs it was hard for like the first question for me but then i started to know what to do me and my friend Ayla were doing it together helping each other if we didn't under stand the question.
